Mr Geert Wilders

Mr Geert Wilders is a member of Dutch House of Representatives i.e. Parliament of Netherlands. He is a right-wing politician and a leader of a political party called " Party for Freedom " (also called PVV in Dutch). He is best known for his anti-Islam speeches and he has been recently (around 2010) tried for "hate speeches". However, the courts upheld freedom of speech and said that since whatever he spoke about Islam was true, he can not be held guilty, even if his speeches hurt certain sections of the society. In a democracy, people must be educated about certain things, however unpleasant they may be, even if they depict certain people in bad light. Truths can not be hidden merely because certain people are uncomfortable about them. Geert Wilders must be commended, not condemned, many people opined.
